Hi Everybody !

Après un an de préparatifs et 3h de train, nous avons enfin décollé pour Singapour, et bientôt pour Perth.
After a year of preparation and 3hours of train, we finally took off to Singapore, and soon, to Perth.

Levés à 7h30, nous sommes partis de Rambouillet, dernier stop français avant le grand voyage, pour Roissy Charles de Gaulle ou nous attendait une queue d'enfer pour l'enregistrement des bagages. Nos gros sacs de l'armée sont partis en hors catégorie mais sont bien arrivés a Singapour avec nous. Ouf ! 

Woken up à 7.30am, we left Rambouillet, our last french stop before the big travel, to go to the Roissy Charles de Gaulles airport where a very big queue was there, waiting us, for the registration of luggage. Our huge army backpacks were put in out of size but, fortunately, they arrived with us in Singpore! Phew!

Nous avons donc embarqué dans l'A380, qui, soit dit en passant, n'est pas beaucoup plus spacieux qu'un autre avion. Les 11 premières heures d'avion n'ont pas été trop difficile mais quelques turbulences nous ont un peu remués, et donné envie d'atterrir assez vite.

We finally board in the A380, which, by the way is not really more airy than another. The 11 first hours in this plane were not too difficult but some agitations tossed us and make us want to touch down as soon as possible. 

Une fois l'atterrissage réussi, nous n'avons eu aucun problème à passer la douane, récupérer nos bagages, etc...
As soon as we arrived, we didn’t have any problems to go through customs, take luggage back, etc…  

Orchard Road

Ayant le choix entre attendre 14h pour aller déposer nos bagages à l'hôtel, ou perdre près de 2h dans les transports en commun pour revenir les chercher à la consigne de l'aéroport, nous avons préféré attendre. Nous avons donc pu visiter en long, en large et en travers ce fameux aéroport de Changi et goûter un vrai curry qui arrache !
Having choice between waiting 14h to go to the hotel and put the luggage down or loose some hours in buses and metro to take them back in the airport, we preferred to stay in the airport for a while. Thanks to this we visited every crook and nanny of the Changi airport, and tasted a real hot curry that knock your socks off ! 

A la fin de cette matinée, nous avons donc pris un "bus taxi" ou "taxi bus" ( a vous de voir) qui nous a déposés directement devant l'hôtel. Dès que nous avons mis le nez dehors nous avons tout de suite été pris à la gorge par la chaleur humide et étouffante de Singapour. Un sauna naturel !

Après une petite sieste pour nous remettre de ce long voyage et rattraper un peu de sommeil (merci le décalage horaire...) nous nous sommes mis en route vers Orchard Road, les Champs-Elysées Singapouriens.  Ce qui est intéressant, c'est que nous ne nous sommes pas sentis dépaysés trop longtemps: Chanel, Vuitton, Cartier, Dior, Elie Saab, et autres compatriotes nous ont vite rappelé la maison, à cela près qu'ils sont dans d'immenses buildings.

At noon, we finally took a sort of « taxi bus » that drop us off just in front of our hotel. At the first moment we go outside in Singapore, we were assaulted by the muggy air of Singapore. A real sauna !

After a little nap to recover from our very long trip and have some restful sleep (Jet lag… )we went to Orchard Road, the Singaporean Champs Elysées. The interesting thing is that we were not really disoriented: Chanel, Vuitton, Cartier, Dior, Elie Saab, and other fellow countrymen quickly make us think about our home. The only difference with France is that their shops  are in huge buildings. buildings.

Le moins que l'on puisse dire c'est que Singapour est une ville verte ! En effet, on a un peu l'impression de voir émerger une ville au beau milieu d'une foret tropicale. La flore est omniprésente, y compris à l'intérieur des bâtiments. 

The least we can say if that Singapore is a green city ! Indeed, it seems like the city has been built in the middle of a rainforest. Flora is omnipresent, even inside buildings !

Nous avons aussi été surpris par le nombre d'oiseaux qui sont apparus à la tombée de la nuit et dont le bruit recouvre celui de la ville. Comme vous pouvez l'entendre sur la vidéo.

We also have been surprised by the number of birds which appeared at dusk and of which the noise cover the noise of the city, as you can notice on the video.
